PatientWay™ Schedule

The traditional process of referring patients to hospital is labour intensive and inefficient. Information is transcribed onto pre-printed forms, faxed, and followed up by numerous phone calls and mailed letters.

The goal of PatientWay Schedule is to allow patients to choose their own appointment time from a set of available time-slots for their type of procedure. Operating in a secure manner - patients will receive an email notice with a special link. Following the link they will enter a code that only they will know. Once on the system they will be able to easily select a time slot of their preference. The time-slots they are able to choose from are ones that are listed in the hospitals scheduling system as generally available for their procedure type.

Implementing PatientWay Schedule requires an existing hospital scheduling system. Changes to booking and scheduling procedures are likely. Implementation will require multiple iterations and not all types of procedures will be suitable for PatientWay Schedule.
